Dr Susanna Unsworth

Hello, I’m Dr. Susanna Unsworth, and I’m dedicated to women’s health, particularly menopause.

I began my medical journey at Pembroke College in Cambridge, continuing on to graduate from the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine in 2005. My career led me through various hospitals in the Eastern region before I pursued further training in General Practice.

In 2010, I became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and served as a GP in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. I now work as a Specialty Doctor in the Breast Clinic at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, bringing over a decade of experience to my practice.

I’ve actively enhanced my expertise in women’s health, earning diplomas from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH). Additionally, I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Gynaecology from the University of Bradford and an Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care from the FSRH.

My commitment to excellence is reflected in my registration on the British Menopause Society Register of Menopause Specialists.

Through my journey, I’ve noticed that women often endure health issues silently, particularly regarding their periods and menopause. They tend to seek medical advice only when things become significantly problematic. Coupled with the strains on our healthcare system, women often feel their concerns are not prioritised. It’s this realisation that prompted me to establish Cambridge Women’s Health – a place where women can receive the time, attention, and experienced guidance they deserve.

Dr Katherine Mellanby

Hi there, I’m Dr. Katherine Mellanby, and I’m passionate about women’s health, with a particular interest in menopause and contraception. My journey in medicine began at Nottingham University, where I earned my qualifications (BMed Sci BMBS) in 2002. After completing my training scheme in London in 2010, I embarked on a career as a General Practitioner.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of practising in various locations, including London, Western Australia, and Cambridge. I’ve consistently emphasised Women’s Health in my General Practice services, holding Diplomas from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH). I’ve also received letters of competencies for the insertion and removal of contraceptive subdermal implants and intrauterine devices.

As a registered trainer for the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH), I’m committed to empowering others in the field. My journey towards excellence continues with certifications like the Menopause Skills Theory Course from the FSRH and working towards the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care Certificate with the British Menopause Society.

Through my practice, I’ve encountered countless women who’ve endured years of challenging symptoms without prioritising their own well-being. Offering women a safe space to discuss their unique struggles empowers them to make informed, personalised choices that can significantly impact their physical and mental health.

I’m eager to connect with you at Cambridge Women’s Health!
